    1. elec engineering.
      A storage battery that can be recharged by passing a current through it from an external direct current supply.

    2. horse-racing.
      A bet on four or more races, where the original money bet and any money won are bet on the next race, so that the better either wins a lot of money or loses it all.

    3. computing.
      A part of the memory of a computer that is used as a temporary store for the results of an arithmetical calculation or logic operation.
