    1. The chance or probability, expressed as a ratio, that something will or will not happen.
      Example: The odds are 10‐1 against
    2. The difference, expressed as a ratio, between the amount placed as a bet and the money which might be won.

    3. An advantage that is thought to exist, especially in favour of one competitor over another.
