    now rather formal:
    1. Said of clothes: made to fit a particular person, or made according to a particular person's requirements. See also made to measure at made. Compare off-the-peg, ready-made, ready-to-wear.
    2. Said of a tailor: making clothes to order, to fit individual customers and their requirements.
