    1. The part of the human body below the chest, containing the organs used for digesting food.
    2. The stomach.
    3. The lower or under part of an animal's body, which contains the stomach and other organs.
    4. The deep interior of something, especially an interior space.
    5. A swelling exterior part of something, eg the underside of a plane, the upper, convex side of a violin across which the strings are stretched, etc.
    6. A part or surface of something which bulges out like a belly and is seen in terms of a container, eg the hollow side of a swelling sail, the wide body of a narrow-necked bottle, etc.
