    1. A plan, especially one covering a particular period of time, specifying how money coming in, eg to a household or a business project, will be spent and allocated.

    2. A periodic assessment of and programme for national revenue and expenditure, proposed by the government and presented to parliament by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

    3. The amount of money set aside for a particular purpose.
      Example: used up my clothes budget for the year
