      Any of several plants of the borage family, especially the viper's bugloss, which has strap-shaped leaves arranged in a basal rosette, and tall spikes of funnel-shaped flowers that are pink in bud and turn bright blue as they open.
Etymology: 16c: ultimately from Greek bous ox + glossa tongue.
