      A pass into the next round of a competition, given to a competitor or team that has not been given an opponent in the current round.
    2. cricket.
      A run scored from a ball which the batsman has not hit or touched. See also leg-bye, steal a bye at steal.
    3. golf.
      The holes remaining after the match is decided, played as a subsidiary game.
