- 1. Financial Times Industrial Ordinary Share Index, an index produced daily to show the general trend in share prices on the London stock exchange.
2. Financial Times Stock Exchange 100-Share Index, which records the share prices of the top 100 UK public companies, giving an indication of movements in share prices. Also called FT-SE or FT-SE Index.
3. A term referring to other, similar indices, such as FT-SE 250 Index, FT-SE All Share Index. See also Footsie.
