    1. Someone who translates foreign speech as the words are spoken and relays the translation orally.
    2. computing.
      A program that translates a statement written in a high-level language into machine code and then executes it, and continues to read, translate and execute one source program at a time.
    3. A machine that senses a punched card which is fed into it and prints out the data contained in the patterns of holes in the card.
