    1. Not precisely or exactly fixed, determined or settled.
      Example: an indeterminate number of guests
      Thesaurus: imprecise, unspecified, inconclusive, undefined, uncertain, undecided, unfixed, unstated, unstipulated, vague, open-ended; Antonym: exact, definite.
    2. Doubtful; vague.
      Example: an indeterminate outlook
    3. math.
      Said of an equation: having more than one variable and an infinite number of possible solutions.

      Denoting an expression that has no defined or fixed value, or that has no quantitative meaning, eg 0/0.

      Denoting growth of a plant that continues indefinitely.
