Linear A Definition

1. An ancient script as yet undeciphered, but related to the later Linear B, and which seems to inscribe a Semitic language of Crete, where the clay tablets engraved with the script were found. &clock; 1940s: called linear script...Class A by Sir Arthur Evans (1851-1941), the English archaeologist who first discovered the tablets in the 1890s.
