    1. Referring to, consisting of or like a line or lines.

      Denoting an equation or relationship that can be represented by a straight line on a graph.
    6. Referring to any scientific or technical system in which a charge in one aspect, eg input, has a directly proportional effect on another, eg output.

      Referring mainly to paintings: of a style where perspective, light and shade, etc are achieved by lines rather than through the use of colour.
