    1. A potent alcoholic drink, sweetened and highly flavoured, and usually drunk at the end of a meal.
      Thesaurus: cordial, cocktail, aperitif, after-dinner drink.
    2. A sweet, usually with a chocolate outer shell and a filling that has the flavour of a particular liqueur.
Etymology: 18c: from Latin liquor, from liquere to be liquid.
