peregrine
peregrine falcon
noun
    1. A large falcon with greyish-blue plumage on its back and wings, striped with darker bars, and paler underparts, also barred.
Etymology: 14c: from Latin peregrinus wandering abroad, because the young birds were captured during their migration from the nesting-place, rather than being taken unfledged from the nest.
