    1. Any of several slender marine fish which attach themselves to rocks, other fish, etc by means of a large sucker on the top of the head.
    2. A hindrance or obstacle.
Etymology: 16c: Latin, from mora a delay, so called because formerly the fish was believed to stop ships by attaching itself to them.
