A game played with long leather-tipped sticks, or cues, 15 red balls, one white cue ball and six balls of other colours, the object being to use the white cue ball to knock the non-white balls in a certain order into any of the six pockets on the corners and sides of a large cloth-covered table, and to gain more points than the opponent.
2. In this game: a position in which the path between the white ball and the target ball is obstructed by another ball.
