      Either of two strong white English cheeses, one of which has blue veins, and which, since 1969, can only be made in Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Etymology: 18c: named after Stilton, a town in Cambridgeshire, S England, where it was originally sold but not made.
