      Any small sac or cavity, especially one filled with fluid, within the cytoplasm of a living cell.
    2. medicine.
      A small blister in the skin containing serum, usually associated with herpes, eczema or other skin disorders.
    3. geol.
      A cavity formed by trapped gas bubbles during the solidification of molten lava.
Etymology: 16c: from Latin vesicula, diminutive of vesica bladder.
